Latest Tyndale Tech: Web Bible Tools

The latest Tyndale Tech (November 2006) is now available on-line. If you are unfamiliar with the Tyndale Tech phenomenon, this is an occasional email from David Instone-Brewer of Tyndale House, Cambridge, UK, which is always full of interesting helps for the those looking to expand their knowledge of and expertise in technical helps for Biblical study. After a month or two, the emails appear on the web site, as now with the latest:

Finding the Right Web Tool for the Job

I endorse what David says here, especially the enthusiasm for Zhubert.

One minor whinge about the Tyndale Tech emails -- the right click is disabled on links, so it's not as straightforward to copy links and bookmark them as it would otherwise be.

Dear Mark,

As many others you have endorsed wholeheartedly Zhubert, and it does indeed contain many helpful features. Could I add a note of caution, however, esp. regarding its ability for lexical analysis (which David praises)? The concordance does not include compound words owing to a fault in the digitisation, and, for whatever reason, the Apocrypha is not included, so that the LXX evidence is misleading.

Still a worhty site and these features will no dobut be improved in time. Researchers should be careful when using it.

Howdy Jim,

Could you clarify what you mean? The Apocrypha has been on my site nearly since launch of the LXX, as is evidenced in the link below and in any word search you might do.

Hello Zack,

Sorry if I made a mistake.

There seem to be omissions in the concordance, but perhaps it is not restricted to the Apocrypha.
