I wanted to get his views on a topic he had never addressed, nor had any other scholar I could find. I found him as approachable and gracious as his books are readable. But first his extensive commitments and then his illness made him put off addressing the subject, and some months ago he said "Your questions would require lengthy answers for which I am not yet ready". And now he never will be ready ....
