I was only 8 years old and remember being scared when I saw a scene of someone being "stoned' and I remember Saul, as he then was, being blinded after his conversion on the road to Damascus. I didn't realise though until very recently that it was David Troughton who played him, though I remember him very well playing The Doctor.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07850302612023068769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5759844.post-70433114967043368082015-03-29T06:54:10.563-04:002015-03-29T06:54:10.563-04:00Sarah N says: I remember watching this series on ...Sarah N says: I remember watching this series on Sunday evenings and ever since then my mental picture of the Apostle Paul has been Patrick Troughton's electrifying portrayal of him. I would dearly love to show this series to my children and grandchildren - it was so well done and knocks spots off all the American cartoon versions, good as they are in their way. Troughton brought intensity, intelligence and dignity to the role - such as rang true for a person who was surely one of the most influential men who ever lived. If the lady who says she has recordings of the series really does, please, someone, investigate and see if it can be recovered and made available to today's technology!Sarah Nhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17858362961395450490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5759844.post-55274017066057494362013-10-19T15:54:06.644-04:002013-10-19T15:54:06.644-04:00I remember watching tbis as a 10 year old and bein...I remember watching tbis as a 10 year old and being struck by his performance to the extent that to this day if anyone ever asked me who my favourite actor is. It used to be broadcast on BBC on Sunday evenings at 5.30pm, and I remember it clearly because I always went to choir practice afterwards, and was usually late because I had waited until the credits had finished. Even now, after so much time has passed, I can remember the effect of Patrick Troughton's portrayal of Paul. It was electric, and I was riveted each week. I think that is why he has remained my favourite Doctor Who - his acting was superb. He could knock the spots off David Tennant any day.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5759844.post-61151060171765815432007-12-07T09:40:00.000-05:002007-12-07T09:40:00.000-05:00It is mentioned in the IMDB Biog for Troughtonhttp...It is mentioned in the IMDB Biog for Troughton
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0873743/bio

The Jewish Contemplatives blog also has this entry:

"My parents were not “religious” and I was an only child.
